How to Maintain Weight Loss

So you enjoyed Super Bowl 2018 and ate too many chips or drank too much beer. Don’t worry, that was just one day if you’re not counting the holidays. Often we focus on the past and regret food choices that we made while losing sight of what’s important to us now which is getting back on track. Losing ten pounds can be a good start to improving our health and blood pressure.  If we take a true inventory of where we start we can create a plan to get the results that we need.

Let’s start by setting short term goals.  Short term goals may be the key to keeping weight off and staying motivated. In the long run goals may help you maintain a healthy life style and workout program.  For example just taking a twenty minute walk and tracking your steps can motivate you to go a little farther each day.  The next thing you know that twenty minute walk will be a thirty or forty minute walk. Walking during your lunch or break is an opportunity to get moving.

No one likes to get up early but with just an extra fifteen or thirty minutes you can stretch, meditate or do yoga.  No time for the gym, jumping jacks or jumping rope are just a few ways to add cardio at home.  Standing at your desk while doing a couple of squats is just one more way to ease exercise into your day.  Let’s face it. We all live busy lives.  Finding ways to add excercise to our day may take a bit of creativity and always check with your physician before starting a workout routine.
